Chalk About Contest Sat. July 25 - Sun. Aug. 2, Voting starts Mon. Aug. 3

Show off your artistic side in our “Chalk About” contest running from Saturday, July 25th – Sunday, Aug. 2. Pick a square around our library to draw on, or you can make chalk art at home and send in a picture! If you're drawing outside the library, and we are open, we can take a picture of your square for you.  If we are not, we will ask you to take a picture of your square and send it to us at with your contact info. We will then enter you into a People’s Choice Contest.  We will print out your pictures (in case bad weather washes your works away) and display at the library and on our Facebook page in a photo album. We welcome you to bring your own chalk to use around the library, too, but please use chalk that easily washes off, such as sidewalk chalk or chalk pastels. No oil pastels, oil paints, or fixatives please.

From Monday, Aug 3 – Friday, Aug 7, library patrons can vote on their favorites, either in the library or by liking their favorite photos in the album on our Facebook page.  Winners will be chosen from children (12 and under), teen (13-17), adult (18 up), & mixed ages (groups with at least one child).  Prizes will be $20 cash.  People can work alone or in groups.  We have limited supplies of chalk available at the library, which you can ask for at the check out counter, that you can use at home or at the library. For more info, contact the library at (920) 398-3434.
